Review Archive
Below are a series of lists of The Second Disc’s many reviews. Most of them are catalogue titles and (hopefully) all of them are as well-written as we can make them.
First, we have a list of Mike’s reviews. Some of these were written for other sources (namely the “newer” non-catalogue titles, mostly penned for favorite destinations MusicTAP and Popblerd!!), but most of them are right here on this site.

Mike,
Here’s a question for you, how come there’s no good collections for Rufus & Chake Khan. If you look at what’s in print right now, they just have seven of the twelve albums they made in print along with “The Very Best Of”. What I don’t get is why they don’t they have an entry in Universal’s 2CD “Gold” series (or at least a “Best Of” that has more than just the 10 tracks that “Very Best” has on it). Should be an item to stir up interest. Enjoy reading your website to help me keep up the latest CD reissues; keep up the good work.

All these great soundtrack reissues have me (to quote Jodeci_ “feenin’ for some extended Prince featured soundtracks. the REAL soundtrack to “Purple Rain” with musical cues and all the songs they left off From “Modernaire” to “Jungle Love”.
Followed by (same month) the REAL soundtrack to Showgirls with all the cues- the U2, Club 69, Sisters Of Mercy tracks and well of course- the Prince cues, and the tracks “319″ and “Ripopgodazippa” or however you spell it….instead of running to “Crystal Ball” or “Gold”, I want the songs in context- where they belong. As well as the songs that he supposedly (?) wrote for Showgirls (for that moment when he was rumored to have done the entire soundtrack) and placed on other artists like “Carmen Electra”
