Well, one grand, anyway. This post is the 1,000th regular post on The Second Disc. I think I speak for myself and Joe pretty well when I say this is damn exciting. With our hit count now regularly around 3,000 and up per day, it's heartening to know that so many people (or a few people a lot of times per day, or robots) like reading news on reissues and box sets, and the crazy would-be sets that we'd like to think could be made in the future.
On the right side of the page, we have a link called "The Suggestion Box" for different things you might want to read about, whether it's Reissue Theory material or some actual bits of news we might have missed. But I wanted to open the floor on the occasion of our 1,000th post to ask if there's anything anyone would like out of their reading experience? I mean anything. How does the site look? Anything we should pay more attention to? Is there anyone in the business you'd like to see us try to interview?
I know Joe and I have had a few ideas kicking around for new features and things, but I want to put you, the reader, first. So sound off with your thoughts and ideas - because all of you have made The Second Disc the success it is. Here's to another few thousand posts!

I cherish the day I stumbled upon your website. As a music lover as well as a closet archivist, I look forward each and every day to your posts. Your knowledge of not just the music, but the stories behind the songs, as well as the industry insight on offer, is remarkable and exciting to read.
I can't wait for the next 1,000...Keep up the good work !!!

In terms of suggestions for improving the site and/or your posts. Well, I realize the inherent challenge when the bulk of your posts are about product that's YET TO BE released, but if there is any way to include more visual material, I'd welcome it.
Aside from that, I've no complaints !
Rock on !

This is my mecca for what's new coming out and what I miss from reissue theory's - one of the first sites I look at a daily

I check this site all the time as well. It's refreshing to read about music collecting from people under the age of 118 years old who don't constantly whine about how every CD reissue since 1987 is either compressed, brickwalled, bright, loud or otherwise somehow unacceptable to their extraperceptive ears, and how every recording artist and every song that post-dates the Beatles essentially sucks.

I like how you are very positive. There's no "ANOTHER release of this album?!? Why doesn't it have _____?" or any of the like. I pretty much agree with what Hank says. When I read your posts, they all seem very friendly and supportive. It's just a great, positive place to go to get some great news. Thank you!

I agree with the comments here, especially the last two. I find this site is very open to different types of music and - I will say it - is not snobby, in the least. This is a site for anyone who loves music, not just for people who understand the differences between mono and stereo or what compression and brickwalled mean. Seriously, I go to other sites and I feel like I need a master's degree to understand what the editors and posters are writing about. I think your site does a wonderful job of discussing music without readers feeling left out or not comprehending what is being said. I also like the design - easy to navigate and well edited.

I'd like to suggest that the date of the post be moved to the TOP of the post - making it easier to see which posts are new.

I'll toot my own horn and link to a post I did for a class blog last semester:

Basically my ultimate suggestion would be--keep up the great work! But I do like the 'Blueprints' idea and hey, if you can tackle a Sundays post (and if something came out of it!) I would definitely be grateful.

I can't think of a single thing I'd change. Honestly.
