Billy Joel's third studio album, from 1974, gets a hybrid SACD reissue featuring both the original stereo and 4.0 quad surround mixes. Features "The Entertainer," "Root Beer Rag" and "Souvenir." The stereo mix is playable on all CD players.
Labelle, Nightbirds (Audio Fidelity) (Quadraphonic Hybrid SACD) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K.)
With production from New Orleans' own piano man, Allen Toussaint, the No. 7 Pop/No. 4 R&BNightbirds (1974) was the most successful LP ever by Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash. It was bolstered by the success of Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan's "Lady Marmalade," which topped the Pop, R&B and Dance charts. Crewe's "It Took a Long Time (For the First Time in My Life") is also featured on the album - you can hear Bob's own version on Bob Crewe: The Complete Elektra Recordings from Second Disc Records and Real Gone Music - as well as a couple of Toussaint compositions and a number of Nona Hendryx originals. This hybrid SACD has a remastered stereo version of the album (playable on all CD players) as well as the original 4.0 quad mix!

Original Studio Cast Recording, Jeanne: The Musical (Stage Door) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K.)
Stage Door Records rescues the score of another lost British musical with the previously unreleased original studio cast recording of the 1985/86 Joan of Arc musical Jeanne . Olivier Award-nominated singer-songwriter Shirlie Roden's rock opera premiered at Birmingham Repertory Theatre in September 1985, starring Siobhan McCarthy in the title role alongside Peter Straker and Malcolm Roberts. The production subsequently transferred to London's Sadler's Wells for a limited season in March 1986 directed by Bill Kenwright and starring Rebecca Storm as Jeanne. This studio cast album was recorded during the show's development, and features composer Roden as Jeanne plus Richard Barnes (Jesus Christ Superstar), Peter Straker (Hair) and The Move's Carl Wayne (Blood Brothers).
