Rhino is continuing its series of Bad Company deluxe editions on May 26 with another pair of double-disc deluxe reissues from the band's Swan Song years. Run With The Pack (1976) and Burnin' Sky (1977) have been newly remastered from the original production tapes. Each of these two seminal albums has been expanded with rare and unreleased recordings from the original album sessions. The CD versions of these Deluxe Editions include all of the new bonus tracks, while the 180-gram vinyl editions offer a selection of the bonus material. The albums will also be available digitally.
Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke and Boz Burrell utilized The Rolling Stones' mobile recording studio in September 1975 in France to craft the album that became Run With The Pack. Upon its release in January 1976, Run made it to No. 4 in England and No. 5 in America, where it sold three million copies. A cover of The Coasters' classic "Young Blood," penned by Doc Pomus with the team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, reached the U.S. Top 20, and FM radio also gave heavy rotation to the title track. "Silver, Blue and Gold" became a fan favorite despite never being released in the single format. The 14-track Run With The Pack bonus disc features previously unreleased early mixes of "Honey Child" and "Simple Man," and an extended version of the title track. Other highlights include the outtake "Let There Be Love," alternates of "Young Blood" and "Fade Away," and a jam session on the Motown classic "(I Know) I'm Losing You." The acoustic B-side "Do Right by Your Woman," rounds out the disc and is its only previously issued track.
In the summer of 1976, the band returned to France once more to record another 12 songs for what would become Burnin' Sky. They set up shop at Château d'Hérouville, the famed studio christened the "Honky Chateau" by Elton John. Burnin' Sky was released in March 1977, and reached the Top 20 in both England and America. The 14-track bonus disc premieres previously unreleased versions of nearly every song on the album, including alternative takes and mixes of "Man Needs a Woman" and "Morning Sun," plus an extended, full version of "Too Bad." The outtake "Unfinished Story," a song that was completed, but never released, also makes its debut.

I am glad they are doing these remastered. Bad Company is an underrated band. I hope they finish this series with Desolation Angels and possibly Rough Diamonds.

Rhino still does re-issues? I thought they stopped.
