The first Bee Gees catalog title under the group's new deal with Capitol is a new compilation due later this month, it was announced today.
Timeless: The All-Time Greatest Hits collects 21 of the Australian trio's greatest hits from 1966 to 1987, all personally selected by Barry Gibb. In his introduction in the package, Barry Gibb (the group's sole surviving member) writes, "These songs, I feel, are the songs that Maurice, Robin, and I would be most proud of."
While it's not terribly different from the last Universal-controlled compilation, 2004's Number Ones (released before Warner Music took over catalogue duties), and does miss a few favorites like the trio's last Top 40 hits "One" and "Alone," it will likely find a nice home in traditional retail spaces as the new go-to Bee Gees single-disc title.
The same day, UMe will repress another milestone for the band on vinyl: the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever. This disco-fied double album featured eight Bee Gees compositions, six of which they performed and four of which--"How Deep is Your Love," "Stayin' Alive," "Night Fever" and Yvonne Elliman's "If I Can't Have You"--topped the Billboard Hot 100. With more than 15 million copies sold in the U.S., it's back on vinyl to commemorate the film's 40th anniversary this year (a milestone further celebrated with a brand-new 4K Director's Cut Blu-ray due May 2).
Both Timeless and the Saturday Night Fever LP reissue are due in stores April 21. Find the full Timeless track list below:

Capitol is under the UMe umbrella now. Re-hash hits compilations is all their catalog department knows how to do.
I agree! BeeGees " The Record" was the best of the best and more than enough! We can't keep listening to those same 20+ songs forever! Where are the unreleased tracks, albums, demos, alternative versions ?
All artists are doing that all the time except the greatest composers in pop history ! Frustrating!

Unfortunately, Barry Gibb is digging in his heels regarding vault materials. Andrew Sandoval(who compiled Rhino's expanded editions of The Bee Gees 1967-70 albums) indicates that he has not been contacted to do any further expanded Bee Gees editions. If Capitol has paid substantial money for their license from the Gibb familes, then Capitol has been had.
I don't know why these artists are sitting on this stuff. Their fan base is getting older every year. Eventually there won't be anyone left who cares. Put it out now!
I agree! I'd like to see Barry and Maurice's unreleased solo recordings from the early 70's make it an official release, and picking up where the nice Reprise 2-disc reissues of Bee Gees 1st-Odessa and the Robin Gibb's Saved by the Bell compilation of some years back , to see Cucumber Castle, 2 Years On, Trafalgar, To Whom It May Concern, Life in a Tin Can, and Mr. Natural , and Main Course, etc .receive the deluxe/expanded/ remastered treatment that they deserve, and not forgetting their early recordings from their Australian era, and hey Andy's stuff as well.
We Dont need more hits compilations, allredy I've more than 10 diffreint Greatest compilations. Nothing new here!!! Let's get more of the stuff thats never been released.
Here's hoping that the vinyl pressing of the album is better than the original RSO release. It was one of the worst...ever....if not skipping, the rest were terribly warped. My record store returned box after box of defects. I never felt so bad for record buyers as I did in 1978! Pitiful. And......who needs another hits comp?? Let's get on with Andrew Sandoval's reissue series!
I would like to see more of the new release that hasn't been heard in a long time. I will be buying Timeless Album. Although I have most of the songs. Timeless Greatest hits is a must have for a collection of the Trio's together. Bee Gees forever. Thank You: Jenny
Although the Bee Gees moved to Australia for a time they were British born.
I'm listening to the Timeless set now,and it seems like two songs have alternate masters used! The most noticable one is "I've Gotta Get A Message To You",as the strings during the intro are nowhere to be found and the ending seems longer than what usually ends up on Best Of/Greatest Hits collections,and the other, "New York Mining Disaster 1941" seems more of an updated mix.
