WIN! WIN! WIN! Rhino's Latest Expanded Reissues From Bad Company

June 2, 2017 By Mike Duquette 4 Comments

Last week, Rhino remastered and expanded two more classic albums Bad Company recorded for the Swan Song label. This week, we've got a copy of both new titles--and we want YOU to win!

Run With The Pack (1976) and Burnin' Sky (1977) were the third and fourth albums by the British supergroup (vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke of Free, guitarist Mick Ralphs of Mott The Hoople and King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell), and continued the band's stellar success in the United States, each peaking in Billboard's Top 20. Recorded in two separate sessions in France--one with The Rolling Stones' mobile recording truck and one at The Château d'Hérouville where Elton John recorded some of his greatest albums--the LPs spawned one U.S. Top 20 hit, a cover of The Coasters' "Young Blood," and fan favorites "Silver, Blue and Gold," "Honey Child," "Everything I Need" and "Burnin' Sky." Each album includes a bonus disc of 14 bonus tracks each, only one of which (an acoustic version of "Do Right By Your Woman") was previously issued as a non-LP B-side--the rest are heard here for the first time!

And winning is as easy as it's always been! To enter to win copies of BOTH REISSUES, simply LIKE our Facebook page and leave us a comment on the BAD COMPANY post on our FB page.  Let us know: Why would you like to win? What's your favorite track from the albums? Ever see Bad Company live? Once you like our page and comment anything you'd like, you're automatically entered to win!

Now, if you've entered previous giveaways and have already liked The Second Disc's Facebook page, of course you can still win: drop a comment on the post and you're entered! (Only one entry per person, please.) And we absolutely got you covered if you think Facebook is silly and dumb. (We get it!) E-mail us (theseconddisc AT gmail DOT com) with the subject line "BAD COMPANY" plus your name and mailing address, and you'll also be entered to win!

The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. EST on the evening of Friday, June 9, at which time our random winner will be selected. Contest open to all. Only one entry per person either via Facebook or email. All winners at sole discretion of The Second Disc. U.S. residents only, please.  This contest is NOT affiliated with or endorsed by Facebook.  Winner will be notified after June 9 via Facebook and/or The Second Disc, so keep an eye out! Good luck!

Mike Duquette

Mike Duquette (Founder) was fascinated with catalog music ever since he was a teenager. A 2009 graduate of Seton Hall University with a B.A. in journalism, Mike paired his profession with his passion through The Second Disc, one of the first sites to focus on all reissue labels great and small. His passion for reissues turned into a career, holding positions at Legacy Recordings and Rhino Records and contributing to Allmusic, Discogs, City Pages, Ultimate Classic Rock and Mondo Records, for whom he penned liner notes for his favorite piece of music: John Williams' Oscar-winning score to 'E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.' Born and raised in New Jersey, Mike lives in Astoria, Queens with his wife, a cat named Ravioli, twin daughters and a large yet tasteful collection of music.
