The second bonus disc collects a further 19 relevant bonus tracks, including versions from archival live albums, every bonus track from the bonus EP included in the 2011 reissue campaign, the band's final BBC session from 1977, five instrumentals and the U.S. edit of third single "It's Late," which makes its debut on CD here. An hourlong documentary premieres on DVD, and a 60-page book tells the album's story. Read more here!
Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track - Deluxe Edition (Capitol/UMe)
2-CD/2-LP/1-BD Box Set: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2-CD Edition: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
Saturday Night Fever is 40 years old, and Capitol and UMe are marking the occasion with a new box set. In this 2-CD/2-LP/1-BD presentation, you'll find the original remastered album on CD and double LP as well as the film on Blu-ray (presented here in a recently restored 40th anniversary cut overseen by director John Badham and packed with extras from previous DVD releases including director's commentary and deleted scenes). Audio extras are minimal: an extra CD EP includes new remixes of the four original Bee Gees tunes by noted mixer Serban Ghenea. Rather than update the tracks for a modern dance approach, Ghenea has taken the original multitracks and brought out new details buried from within the master tapes. Watch for our full review soon! A 2-CD edition is also available today, mirroring the version in the box set, with the remastered album and remix EP!
