Between June 1 and July 15, Barenaked Ladies will be taking to the road alongside Better Than Ezra and K.T. Tunstall. Their Last Summer on Earth tour is one part of a banner year for the band which has also seen their induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. The celebration continues with the upcoming release of Stunt: 20th Anniversary Edition, an expanded edition of their most successful studio album. It's due on July 6 digitally, with physical CD/DVD and 2-LP vinyl editions following on September 28 from Rhino.
Stunt arrived in July 1998 and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. A 4x platinum seller in the United States and Canada, it also was certified gold in the United Kingdom. The album's first single, "One Week," established the band in the U.S., reaching No. 1 on the pop chart. It sold over five million copies and earned the group a Grammy nomination. In the spirit of the album title, the song "Alcohol" was reportedly recorded with all members completely naked; other highlights on the album include "Light Up My Room," "Call and Answer," and "It's All Been Done."
The 20th anniversary edition of Stunt adds three bonus tracks on CD: the outtakes "She's On Time" and "Long Way Back Home" (first heard as hidden tracks on the limited edition version of the album) plus "Get in Line" from the soundtrack to the animated television series King of the Hill. The DVD includes The Stunt Tour and Barenaked in America, the 1999 documentary directed by longtime fan and Beverly Hills 90210 star Jason Priestley. The film features approximately 90 minutes of live and behind-the-scenes footage from the tour. This release marks its North American DVD debut. The vinyl version adds only the two outtakes.
Stunt: 20th Anniversary Edition hits digital download and streaming services on July 6, with both physical editions due on September 28. You'll find pre-order links below!
