Run Out Groove has announced its next limited-release, fan-voted LP...and it's positively Revolting!
Fans have voted Revolting Cocks' 1993 album Linger Ficken' Good...And Other Barnyard Oddities to be the next official limited and numbered Run Out Groove release. The industrial rock supergroup had its origins as a side project from Richard 23 of Front 242, Belgian artist Luc van Acker, and Ministry's Al Jourgenson. Linger Ficken' Good...And Other Barnyard Oddities returns to vinyl after a 25-year absence in a deluxe, 180-gram heavyweight pressing with all of the attention to detail for which ROG is known. The album will be packaged in a gatefold, tip-on Stoughton-printed jacket, and fans will have another voting opportunity to determine the color of the vinyl.
The album spawned two singles: an unexpected cover of the Rod Stewart hit "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" featuring Chris Connelly, and "Crackin' Up," which gained a wider audience via its appearance on MTV's Beavis and Butthead. ROG's reissue is available for pre-order through September 9, and will be pressed and numbered to a limited quantity based on these pre-orders.
In the meantime, voting is open now for ROG's next release drawn from the deep Warner Music vaults. Descriptions for the below three titles have been provided by the label.
Secret Machines - Ten Silver Drops: Criminally-overlooked upon release and out of print on vinyl for 12 years, if voted to win ROG will reissue the album in stunning sound and beautiful packaging - fitting for this modern day prog-rock opus. We'll also unveil a surprise for Secret Machines fans that have the tenacity and gumption to rally their friends to vote this record into pre-order.
Better Than Ezra - Friction Baby: If voted to win, ROG will bring this title back on vinyl after 20+ years, upgrade the packaging and include a bonus LP of acoustic and live rarities from the era.
Green On Red - Gas Food Lodging: If voted to win, ROG will reissue this title on vinyl for the first time in 33 years, put it in an old school tip-on jacket and make it on pretty colored vinyl.
