Originally released in April of 1993, Toby Keith's self-titled debut introduced his unique, Oklahoma-raised country songcraft to the world. It contained four hit singles and has since been certified platinum. On November 30, Mercury Nashville/UMe will release an expanded 25th anniversary edition of the landmark album under a new name, Should've Been A Cowboy, in honor of Keith's debut single that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Charts. The title will arrive on CD, digital, and LP -- marking the first time that the album has appeared on vinyl -- though fans will have to wait until December 14 for the LP.
Should've Been A Cowboy: 25th Anniversary Edition will feature all the songs from the original album, plus three rare bonus tracks from Toby Keith's personal archive, refreshed cover art, and new liner notes with memories from the artist. All the music has been remastered from the original analog tapes. The album is available for pre-order now and will arrive on November 30. You can find the full track listing and pre-order links below.

Jman Burnett says
Most unexpected, as country artists rarely get their albums expanded (some true legends notwithstanding). One question: Since it's never been on vinyl before, wouldn't consumers like an LP version with just the original ten tracks and the 1993 title and graphics? I mean, if Shania Twain could get her albums reissued on vinyl with original titles and artwork, why can't Toby get his debut issued that same way?!
Or maybe this new package relates to how Keith called his latest tour the Should've Been a Cowboy Tour, if I remember right.
