Paul McCartney has announced the release of a super deluxe "Traveller's Edition" of his most recent LP, Egypt Station. The number-one album was originally released last year and was loosely based around the theme of transportation. Now, McCartney and Capitol Records have used that concept as the basis for the new edition, which is due out on May 10.
Egypt Station - Traveller's Edition will be presented in a vintage-style suitcase loaded with music, including different configurations of the album, unreleased songs, a wealth of memorabilia, and "hidden rarities." A full list of the box set's known contents is below. The suitcases are limited to one pressing of only 3,000 copies and are currently only available through Paul McCartney's website at this link.
Due to the limited quantity of this edition, sales will be on a first come, first served basis.
Egypt Station - Traveller's Edition audio and video content:
• Limited Edition Concertina Tri-Fold Deluxe 180G Vinyl Double Black Disc Pressing of Egypt Station
• Exclusive Limited Edition Bonus 180G Vinyl Pressing of Egypt Station II in "Night Scene" blue, featuring three previously unreleased tracks -- 'Frank Sinatra's Party,' 'Sixty Second Street' and extended cut of Egypt Station single 'Who Cares' -- as well as four live performances of Egypt Station tracks taken from Abbey Road Studios, The Cavern Club, LIPA, and Paul's iconic performance at Grand Central Station

This confirms it - McCartney is truly out of his mind...........wonder what this will cost ???
Despite all the raves about this album, I still don't think it's that great and truthfully Paul's voice is shot and has been shot for years...........it pains me to hear him sing now.........

“Who Cares” pretty much sums up this entire project. Certainly this bloated “deluxe” release.
Even if Egypt Station were a good album — it’s not, apart from 2-3 songs I kinda liked — this would still be insane.
People can choose to do what they want with their cash, but this ridiculous release and the insane prices for tickets to his current tour are really turning me off. Likewise, making the recent “Wings Over Europe” only available as part if another insanely priced box set.
In his 8th decade of life, how much money does he, and his heirs, honestly need?

$360

The headline to this article should be “Happy With You(r Money).”
