New Order rose from the ashes of legendary post-punk group Joy Division and created a unique blend of punk, electronica, and new wave that made them one of the most celebrated groups of the '80s. Their debut album Movement arrived at a period of transition. Having elected to continue on after the death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis, the re-named New Order were in search of a new identity and a new sound. Most of the material that would make up Movement came from songwriting sessions in the summer of 1980, while "Truth" and "Dreams Never End" were workshopped onstage during their first concerts, before keyboardist and guitarist Gillan Gilbert was added to the lineup. The resulting album shows New Order at a music crossroads between their previous post-punk style and the new wave-inspired sound that came to define the band.
More than three decades on, New Order's debut album is being celebrated with a deluxe box set due on April 5. Entitled Movement (Definitive Edition), the box set will include the original LP with its iconic, Peter Saville-designed sleeve, as well as a CD in a vinyl replica sleeve. Also included are a bonus CD of previously unreleased demos, recording sessions, and alternate mixes, as well as a DVD of live concerts and TV appearances, and a hardbound book, all housed in a loft-off lid box.
The Movement era will also be celebrated with four 12" vinyl singles. Ceremony (Version 1) includes the original recording of "Ceremony" and is backed with "In A Lonely Place." Ceremony (Version 2) features an alternate version of that track with Gillan Gilbert. Both singles will be released today, March 8. A 12" single of "Everythings Gone Green" backed with "Cries and Whispers" and "Mesh" will follow on March 15, and a further 12" single featuring the full-length versions of "Temptation" and "Hurt" is due on March 22. All the singles feature remastered audio and are pressed on heavyweight vinyl.

Maybe they'll release the dvd by itself? That's really a lot of content on one dvd-9. It should have been two dvds or a bluray.
I'm gonna pass on the box unless I get a helluva deal on one. Too many box sets and deluxe versions released around the same time. Would be better for sales if record companies didn't clump these together.

Why they didn't put on a 3rd CD with the singles/12"s and B-sides like in the 2008 deluxe 2CD sets...just reissuing the 12" vinyl was both weird and stupid...now you need both...or buy "Substance" or what I call Frankenstein-ing it, take CD2 from the earlier package and put it with the box, combining the two...thing is, will there be boxes for every New Order album and also Joy Division?? I saw the reissued 12"s...too expensive...
