Elvis Costello and the Imposters have been in the news a lot lately. They are set to embark on a U.S. tour this summer co-headlining with Blondie and recently released a new EP, Purse. The four-song set features all unreleased tracks, including previously unrecorded lyrics from Johnny Cash ("If You Love Me") and Bob Dylan ("Down in the Bottom" featuring Rebecca and Megan Lovell). Purse also features co-writes with Paul McCartney ("The Lovers That Never Were") and Burt Bacharach ("Everyone's Playing House"). Once again co-produced by Sebastian Krys, it makes for the perfect companion to 2018's Look Now, featuring the same eclectic spirit and top-drawer songcraft.
The tracks were initially released on a 12" vinyl EP for Record Store Day last month, but are now available from all digital services. The recordings are available for download and to stream across platforms. We've got the Spotify stream below!

The back of the RSD 12" sleeve shows, along with the Look Now release variants, a completely different cover for another release with the same title, "Purse". It doesn't describe it in any way, however; it just says "Watch this space". Could the Purse EP be a teaser for a full-length?

Perhaps, but Purse would have been a stronger bonus disc for the deluxe edition of Look Now than the one they used...
