Following in the footsteps of artists ranging from Aretha Franklin to The Beach Boys, Rod Stewart has announced a collaboration with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. You're in My Heart: Rod Stewart with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, like those other projects, takes classic vocals and pairs them with lush, newly-orchestrated accompaniment. Stewart is sweetening the pot, however, by premiering two new vocals: a duet of Motown favorite "It Takes Two" with Robbie Williams and a new solo track, "Stop Loving Her Today."
Produced by Trevor Horn, You're in My Heart will be available on November 22 from Rhino as a 1-CD, 15-song edition; a 2-CD, 22-song version; and via digital and streaming platforms. The offerings include orchestral takes on Sir Rod's U.K. chart-toppers "Sailing," "I Don't Want to Talk About It," and "The First Cut Is the Deepest," as well as U.S. No. 1 "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)," the international No. 1s "Maggie May" and "Reason to Believe," Tom Waits' "Downtown Train" and "Tom Traubert's Blues (Waltzing Matilda)," and of course, the title track "You'll Be in My Heart (The Final Acclaim)." Stewart's time with Faces is represented by the band's 1971 top 40 hit "Stay with Me," while his vocal for Mike d'Abo's "Handbags and Gladrags" has been culled from his acoustic album Unplugged...and Seated.
You'll Be in My Heart follows Stewart's 2018 Blood Red Roses, a U.K. No. 1 album, and coincides with a busy year of touring for him on both sides of the Atlantic. It's due from Rhino on November 22, and you'll find the track listing and pre-order links below!

Ah, another orchestral grafting. The favorite of those who think that hologram tours are the real thing.

One would be hard pressed, after reading about this new release, to think this was the same individual who recorded those magnificent Mercury albums.
