Nilsson fans (and who isn't?), rejoice! On November 22, the late singer-songwriter's final recordings will at last see the light of day on CD, vinyl, and digital formats from Omnivore Recordings.
Losst and Founnd is the first new album of original material from Harry Nilsson since 1980's Flash Harry. Nilsson was working on the album at the time of his death at the age of 52 in January 1994 with producer Mark Hudson (Ringo Starr, Aerosmith). Two of the songs, "U.C.L.A." and "Animal Farm," were issued on the 2006 publishing promo Perfect Day: The Songs of Nilsson 1971-1993 (produced by Omnivore's Brad Rosenberger) but the material has otherwise gone largely unheard.
Hudson has completed the album with a little help from Nilsson's family and friends including Van Dyke Parks, Jim Keltner, Jimmy Webb, and Harry's son, Kiefo. In addition to the original compositions on Losst and Foundd, Harry also recorded covers of Webb's "What Does a Woman See in a Man" and Yoko Ono's "Listen, the Snow is Falling." He had a long association with both artists. Webb played on his smash album Nilsson Schmilsson; Harry also recorded his "Campo de Encino." Nilsson recorded many of Ono's songs including three on the 1984 Ono tribute Every Man Has a Woman and "Never Say Goodbye" from her musical New York Rock.
Mark your calendars for November 22 for a new clutch of soon-to-be-classic Nilsson melodies. You can read more here, including comments from Mark Hudson, in The Washington Post, and can peruse the track listing and pre-order now at the links below.

Good attempt, but no cigar. There are still plenty of tracks from the "Papa's Got a Brown New Robe" sessions as well as the Andy Cahan and E J Gold demo sessions that still await release. Harry recorded great versions of "245lb Man", "Misery And Gin", " You Are Here" and "It's All In The Mind" that are still in the can and are far superior to some of the stuff on this release. And the correct title is "Try Try Try".
