Garth Brooks' ever-growing legion of fans will have cause to celebrate on November 1, when the country superstar's new, massive box set called Legacy finally hits shelves. Legacy collects five of Brooks' albums in one place, on vinyl for the first time ever. Fans will have three different configurations to choose from: the Limited Edition Numbered Series, the Original Analog Edition, and the Digitally Remixed/Remastered Edition. Each bundles together CD and LP editions (with bonus tracks on CD) and delivers a different way to experience five of Brooks' albums - No Fences, The Chase, In Pieces, Fresh Horses & Triple Live. The new live collection was only previously available as a limited-time download last year and will now see its physical media debut. Unfortunately, Brooks elected to leave out the 1997 album Sevens because it would have had to be a double-LP set, which would have marred his vision for a fan-friendly price point.
The Digitally Remixed/Remastered Edition brings together all the albums across 7 LPs and 7 CDs and uses newly revisited mixes and masters of his legendary music, promising enhanced clarity and separation. The music will be pressed on standard, 140-gram vinyl, while the CDs boast additional, as-yet-undisclosed bonus tracks. Finally, the box will include a special artwork variant of the Triple Live album - one of two that are exclusive to this configuration. This edition will be available in numbered and unnumbered variants.
The Original Analog Edition features the original mixes and masters of Garth Brooks' legendary material, inviting listeners to enjoy the warmth of the analog recordings on 140-gram vinyl. Like the Digitally Remixed edition, the Original Analog Edition will contain of one two newly designed packages for Triple Live that will be exclusive to this analog edition. The set will also feature 7 CDs with bonus tracks. This configuration can be purchased in a numbered or unnumbered edition.
Finally, there's the Limited Edition Numbered Series configuration, which collects the 7 remixed and remastered CDs with bonus tracks alongside the 7 original analog edition LPs, this time presented on premium, 180-gram vinyl. Aside from the enhanced vinyl presentation, the box features different packaging, one of two further artwork variations for Triple Live (that's 6 different sleeves possible across the 3 configurations!), and a special collector's poster. The Limited Edition box sets will be available in numbered or unnumbered configurations.
To make sure these sets reach as many fans as possible, Garth Brooks has not only initiated special direct-to-consumer campaigns, but he's also partnered with Amazon (links below!), Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, FYE, and specialty shops Bi-Lo, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Costco, Cracker Barrel, Dollar General, Fry's Food, Winn-Dixie, along with several independent record stores
And if you just can't decide on which configuration to purchase, Amazon is offering a special bundle that features all three! The Limited Edition, Original Analog Edition, and Digitally Remixed/Remastered Edition box sets will arrive with the same number on each set, promising to be a highly collectible way to enjoy these timeless tunes.
These box sets - which have already pre-sold over 1 million copies - are strictly limited, so place your orders soon! We've got order links for each configuration of Legacy below and will update with track listings as they arrive.

Hi there! The Bonus tracks on the studio CDs are the same ones from his "Limited Series" boxed sets.
No Fences: "This Ain't Tennessee"
The Chase: "Something With A Ring To It"
In Pieces: "Anonymous"
Fresh Horses: "To Make Me Feel My Love"
He mentioned in an interview with Billboard why he elected to leave out "Sevens" - but why didn't he include "Ropin' The Wind" and "Garth Brooks"? Will these all be released on Vinyl in another package down the line, I wonder?
Ron says
You know Garth will do a second volume and include the other albums! I give it a year or two...
Larry Davis says
What a weird and confusing package...why 3 boxsets, why not just 1?? Also, if just 1 of 2 Triple Live's, how do you get the other?? Also, is it the same album that was in the Anthology Part III Live book/5CD set?? And this box is just 5 albums...what about the others?? Is he doing more volumes?? And the bonus tracks on the CDs, when will we know what they are?? Lots of questions...I don't buy blindly, and GB tends to repackage things multiple times...I have the first 3 boxsets, but the Target 10CD Ultimate one was mostly a waste because of weird playlists with 8 unreleased tracks sprinkled in, another live double album called "The Road" which repeats most of "Double Live", and an early Target version of "Gunslinger" with 2 bonuses & exclusive cover...what would been better?? "Gunslinger" with that cover and a full booklet, the 2 bonus tracks & 8 unreleased cuts on a second disc...not that waste of a boxset...it would be good if this Legacy box to take these other tracks & put them on the CDs in this set as bonus tracks...if they are, I will buy the Limited set...only need one and it would be the most limited of the 3, and 180 gram vinyl, not 140...what's the point of that?? Weird release, this...
Ron says
I totally agree that this is all too weird! I am a huge Garth fan, and I did place a pre-order for the Legacy Collectors' Bundle from Amazon back in the summer,, but then I cancelled it. Garth has re-released his material too damn much already! There were the "Hits" and "Ultimate Hits" albums, then the two Walmart sets featuring all of his Capitol/Liberty albums with bonus tracks, then the Walmart covers box set (which at the time featured all-new recordings, except for the inclusion of his "Ultimate Hits" album, which was pointless), and then the big old box set from Target which picked up not only his hits AGAIN but re-issues from his previous box sets as well. Oh, there are the two Anthology book/cd sets with the same songs AGAIN! (The second Anthology set also features "Triple Live," so why is it such a highlight of this new set? I don;t get it!) Honestly, I love Garth, but I feel he has severely cheapened his catalog by putting out these box sets, which by the way ended up being sold at discounters like Ollie's (Good Stuff Cheap) and Big Lots for under $10.00 each! When I considered these new box sets, I had to say "no." I couldn't spend another $100+ for more reissues of Garth material. How many times and in how many formats is Garth going to issue the same songs, over and over and over again? What we need is a BRAND NEW ALBUM OF NEW MATERIAL.
Larry Davis says
Ummm...these sets for $10 at Ollie's (Good Stuff Cheap)???? Never heard of this seller...what's their website??
Ron says
They are a bargain chain of stores in the south, maybe elsewhere. I don't think they allow online shopping, just in-store. They had the Garth Target 10-CD set a few months back for $9.99. They recently had the 2nd volume (actually Vol. 3) of his Anthology book and CD set for $6.99! They also had the "Blame It On My Roots" box a couple of years back for around $9.99. I guess they buy overages and items that did not sell from the main stores like Target and Walmart.
Larry Davis says
I actually found the "Roots" boxset online for, like, 4 bucks...seriously...and with shipping, it went up to 8 or 9, still, what a steal!! I recall it used to retail at Walmart for over 40...I saw all 3 boxes at Barnes & Noble...I will not buy the Limited, unless he decides to do sets with the rest of the catalogue, up to "Gunslinger" & "Fun"...I saw the outside boxes, how are they packaged inside?? No jewelcases, just folders and slots?? Would like to know...as for Ollies, are you near one?? Are they like a Goodwill, where everything is random?? Would like to know what they have...too bad you can't order stuff online from them...I am nowhere near the south...actually, is there one in Miami?? Going on the Outlaw Country Cruise 5 & Cayamo 13 end of January...will gladly pop in when I return to Miami mid February...

Sometimes less is more. And it appears that Garth and his management team have yet to learn that lesson.

What has me confused is, one set is the original analog versions, the second is the remixed, remastered versions and the third set is......what? This didn’t make sense when he announced it, it doesn’t make sense now. Also why skip over “Garth Brooks” and “Ropin The Wind”?
Al says
Got my set. I’ve only played one of the vinyl records from the Limited Edition set. Soundwise, it doesn’t have the typical vinyl “warmth”. To compare as I type this I’m playing Miranda Lambert’s latest “Wildcard” on vinyl and sounds fantastic. Perhaps the remixed/remastered version will sound better.
The vinyl though is bare bones, no frills. There are no liner notes, just the sleeve and the record. So they literally just issued the albums on vinyl.
The poster is just the moon man on the cover. Can’t imagine anyone hanging that anywhere.
Haven’t dove into the other sets yet, but gotta say for all the hype, there isn’t really anything spectacular here. It’s just another reissue of the albums.
Spencer says
How are the bonus tracks in the CDs?
Al says
Same bonus tracks as the 1995 Limited Series set. This is essentially a reissue of that set with Triple Live thrown in. The live set continues to fade out between tracks which, for me, makes the album really tough to listen to. Feels like it starts and stops.
The music is great as it always has been, but this set is NOT essential by any means. I expect this will flood the after market sites for cheap very soon.
Charles says
It’s vinyl guys !!! I’m pumped GB is finally giving us music on vinyl !!! And to me , the price is unbelievable !! I actually like there are 3 configurations . It’s going to be fun to hear the differences on vinyl! I really hope we get the rest of the albums on vinyl ... I’m hoping soon !!!
And it’s not blind on the bonus tracks , if you pay attention to studio g , he’s told us what they are ( except triple live , but I’m guessing it will be All Day Long ).
For the fans who just want one box , they are selling them individually too . I love the customization , it was really funny to pick a number . I chose the date I got my first Garth albums on cassette as a kid . This set means a lot to me .
Kathy Korroch says
my questions is , is it the same songs on the cd's as on the vinyl ????
