Kenny Rogers announced his farewell tour in 2015, bringing it to a close two years later at the end of 2017. The Gambler's Last Deal celebrated the superstar's entire career from his early recordings with The Bobby Doyle Three to his psychedelic country with The First Edition and his beloved solo work. Now, MVD Entertainment Group is bringing the acclaimed tour to a CD/DVD package on December 13.
The film of The Gambler's Last Deal was shot at the London Palladium during Rogers' final world tour and found Rogers sharing anecdotes of his long career with the audience. Backed by his longtime band, Rogers performed all of the hits one would expect, including "Through the Years," "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town," "Lady," "Just Dropped In," "Coward of the Country," "Islands in the Stream," and of course, "The Gambler." Linda Davis supported him on songs including "Daytime Friends" and "We've Got Tonight."
The concert film also features live footage from numerous other venues on the tour as well as footage of prominent figures in Rogers' career including collaborator Lionel Richie, manager Ken Kragen, producers David Foster and Larry Butler, and EMI America founder Jim Mazza. The late Dottie West joins Rogers for a posthumous duet of "Every Time Two Fools Collide."
This DVD/CD set is housed in a digipak and includes a booklet of vintage photos of Kenny and a foreword penned by writer/producer Kelly Junkermann. A couple of the tracks are exclusive to the DVD: "Lesson in Leavin'" and Dolly Parton and Alison Krauss' performance of Rogers' "Sweet Music Man." DVD bonus material includes a music video of "Buy Me a Rose," a backstage rehearsal from 2005 of "Someone, Somewhere Tonight" and additional interviews with members of Kenny's band, cast, and crew.

Not sure if that DVD set list is exactly what he performed in London, but it is not the full set he did when I saw him here in August of 2017. Gone are Love Lifted Me, We Are The World and Love Will Turn You Around. Too bad.

I have the DVD/CD set already - I preordered it from Amazon a month or so back and it came this past Monday. (It's out of stock from Amazon but was available from several third party sellers).
Its a nice set ! It's not a "true" concert video as its interspersed with interviews (David Foster, Larry Butler, etc. - and these aren't new - they've been on other Kenny DVD's) -- the performances are good nonetheless.
The bonus clips with members of his band, etc. are great !!
I recommend it for any Kenny Rogers' fans !!!
Just was a bit surprised that it wasn't released on a major label - I guess his contract ran out with Warner ?

Did this get pulled at the last minute? It has disappeared from Amazon UK completely, shows as "currently unavailable" on Amazon US, and as a "ships in 1-2 months" from Amazon CA. Seems to be unavailable at every other online retailer I checked as well.

Hi Steve. Our understanding is that some copies slipped out before the official release date but this title has been cancelled/postponed. We hope it's rescheduled soon.

Wow !! Cancelled/postponed" ?????
So I could have a collectors' item then?

You’re a lucky guy! Copies don’t even seem to be available secondhand.
