Since its network debut on September 18, 1965, I Dream of Jeannie has enchanted television audiences. That's in no small part to the magical presence of Barbara Eden as the title character. While Jeannie had the occasional musical moment on the show, few viewers knew at the time of the star's extensive background in music. In fact, Eden studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music - and in the wake of Jeannie's success became an in-demand headliner in musical theatre as well as in Las Vegas and throughout the country. In 1967, Dot Records issued Eden's one and only album, but it all but disappeared in a puff of pink smoke. On January 31, 2020, Real Gone Music will grant the wish of record aficionados and TV buffs everywhere with the first-ever reissue of Miss Barbara Eden on both CD and vinyl.
Arranged and conducted by Nashville veteran Bill Justis, Miss Barbara Eden features the luminous singer showcasing the many sides of her personality. This wasn't the standard fare of the day; there's not a Lennon/McCartney or Bacharach/David tune in sight. Instead, Justis tailored songs ranging from country (including a pair by Bill Anderson and another popularized by Sandy Posey) to classic pop (Johnny Mercer's standard "Dream") to the youthful Eden's vibrant talents. The highlight just might be her groovy cover of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich's "Bend It," a wacky Greek-meets-Eastern bubblegum dance novelty.
Real Gone's LP reissue of Miss Barbara Eden is pressed on pink vinyl and has been mastered at 45 RPM by Mike Milchner at SonicVision for optimum fidelity. It's strictly limited to 1,000 units and replicates the original package. For those who prefer CD, the album will be available in that format, too. The CD, also mastered by Milchner, boasts an expanded booklet with rare photography and memorabilia as well as new liner notes from our own Joe Marchese based on a fresh interview with Miss Barbara Eden herself.
After decades as a rare collectible, Miss Barbara Eden is finally getting the wide release it deserves. This unexpected, breezy, and fun pop platter from a true television icon arrives on January 31. You'll find pre-order links below!

At 45 rpm is it one LP or two?

Pre-ordered, hope there will be signed copies. (I had this on a bootleg but I don't get bootlegs signed.) She's been at Chiller autograph show in New Jersey a couple times and signed a couple things for me. Nice lady.
Joe Marchese says
Stay tuned, Robert. I hope autographs will be a possibility, too. Barbara has been very enthusiastic and supportive of this project. 🙂

Obsessed with this show. I record and watch it daily even tho I have the DVD set. I like to watch it for a few minutes before bed to clear my mind. I've probably seen each episode 100+ times and it never gets unfunny. Great that this music is being released to Barbara Eden's fans.
