Break the Silence: Run Out Groove Announces Killswitch Engage as Next Release; Zevon, Kravitz, Louis XIV Up for Vote

July 15, 2020 By Joe Marchese Leave a Comment

Killswitch Engage As Daylight Dies

PRE-ORDER NOW FROM RUN OUT GROOVE

Run Out Groove has announced its next, fan-voted vinyl release direct from the vaults of Warner Music.  The winner is metalcore band Killswitch Engage's 2006 As Daylight Dies.  The Massachusetts band's fourth studio album, it will be available on vinyl for the very first time in the U.S. as a 2-LP set with bonus tracks also making their vinyl debut and artwork from bassist Mike D'Antonio.  It's available for pre-orders only until August 26 at which point the album will be pressed and limited to the number of orders.

As Daylight Dies, originally released on the Roadrunner label, featured band members Howard Jones (no, not that Howard Jones), Adam Dutkiewicz, Joel Stroetzel, Justin Foley, and D'Antonio.  It peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold. Its leadoff single, "My Curse," was a top 25 hit on the Rock Songs chart, though the single version featured an alternate vocal replacing the original, "unclean" (or growled, abrasive) vocal track.  "My Curse" has become one of Killswitch Engage's most enduring tracks, with appearances on video games including Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Run Out Groove's reissue, pressed on colored vinyl and individually numbered, will include the four bonus tracks originally released on a Special Edition of the album including the band's cover of metal god Dio's classic "Holy Diver" which peaked at No. 12 on the Mainstream Rock chart.

The announcement of As Daylight Dies brings along with it a new round of voting.  The polls re now open for these three newly-added titles.  Descriptions have been provided by Run Out Groove.

Warren Zevon, Stand In The Fire (Deluxe Edition): Vote for the legendary rock singer-songwriter and ROG will reissue and expand his classic 1980 live album that would feature 6 previously unreleased tracks, 4 tracks previously unavailable on vinyl and never-before-seen photos.

Lenny Kravitz, Black and White America: Vote for Lenny's 2011 Roadrunner debut and ROG will issue the album on vinyl for the first time, add 7 non-LP bonus tracks and press it on black and white colored vinyl.

Louis XIV, The Best Little Secrets Are Kept: Vote for the San Diego rockers, not the famous French King, and ROG would reissue their 2005 Atlantic album on vinyl for the first time in 15 years, add non-LP bonus tracks and press on colored vinyl.

To check out which previous ROG titles are now available in independent record stores, check out the past titles section on the label's website.  To locate older titles in the ROG catalogue that are sold out, please check ROG's retail store locator.  Place your pre-orders at the link below for Killswitch Engage's As Daylight Dies!
