Today, Bruce Springsteen announced his latest project, a new album called Letter to You due on October 23.
His 20th album features all the members of the E Street Band and was produced by Springsteen and Ron Aniello. It sees Bruce Springsteen looking forward and back. He revisits a trio of songs that were written across the decades: "Janey Needs a Shooter," "If I Was the Priest" and "Song for Orphans."
"I love the emotional nature of Letter to You," says Springsteen in a statement. "And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we've never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I've ever had."
Letter To You will be available on CD and gatefold 2-LP formats, each accompanied by a 16-page booklet. Bruce Springsteen's online store will offer an exclusive black with white swirl color vinyl variant, while across the pond Badlands will have an exclusive solid grey pressing paired with an A5-sized postcard. The grey vinyl release will also be available at independent stores across America.

IT's a beautiful song, and feels like a Western Stars song amped up by the ESB. Can't wait for the record!

Is "House of a Thousand Guitars" a Willie Nile cover?
