Craft Recordings continues its exploration of roots music with a new vinyl release from one of folk's brightest. On April 9, Sarah Jarosz's 2013 acclaimed Build Me Up From Bones will hit shelves and online storefronts in a deluxe vinyl package. Her web store will also stock an exclusive red vinyl edition.
Just five years after singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jarosz signed to the Sugar Hill Records label, the phenom of the Americana scene released her most fully-realized effort, Build Me Up From Bones. She'd come a long way in that short time; starting as a high school student with an uncanny ability to marry story and song, she released her debut Song Up in Her Head shortly thereafter in 2009, followed by Follow Me Down two years later. But on Build Me Up From Bones, Jarosz delivered an even more personal work, navigating away from character studies in favor of her own personal narratives. Adding to nine originals are two covers: a stirring rendition of Bob Dylan's "Simple Twist of Fate," and a version of Joanna Newsom's "The Book of Right-On." It's all produced by Jarosz and Gary Paczosa, spotlighting the artist's talents on guitar, mandolin, banjo, and vocals. And with guests like Jerry Douglas, Chris Thile, and Dan Dugmore, there's no shortage of Americana luminaries on this acclaimed recording.
Whether you're a longtime fan of Sarah Jarosz's talents or a new initiate, you'll find plenty to enjoy in Craft's new vinyl reissue. Build Me Up From Bones arrives on April 9. You can secure your copy from any good music shop, or from the links below!
