Cat Stevens, Harold and Maude: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (A&M/Cat-o-Log/UMe)

A&M/Cat-o-Log/UMe delivers a long-awaited official wide-release soundtrack of Hal Ashby's 1971 dark comedy Harold and Maude featuring the songs of Cat Stevens.  The new release, available on CD, LP, and digital formats, includes the seven songs reprised from Stevens' first two Island/A&M albums Mona Bone Jakon and Tea for the Tillerman ("On the Road to Find Out," "I Wish, I Wish," "Miles from Nowhere," "Tea for the Tillerman," "I Think I See the Light," "Trouble," and "Where Do the Children Play?") plus his original songs "Don't Be Shy" and "If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out."  Dialogue and instrumental cues are also included.  All of the audio, including previously unheard masters of "Don't Be Shy" and "If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out," has been newly remastered at Abbey Road Studios.  The physical formats will include liner notes, lyrics, transcriptions of movie dialogue, and photos from the Paramount Pictures archive.

This 2-CD, 26-track anthology features 19 classic hits from the legendary songstress and activist (including "Feeling Good," "Ain't Got No/I Got Life," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," "Mississippi Goddam," and "I Loves You, Porgy") and seven new remixes from DJ/producers such as HONNE ("My Baby Cares Just for Me"), Joel Correy ("Feeling Good"), Riton ("See-Line Woman"), and synthpop band Hot Chip ("Be My Husband").

Urge Overkill, a.k.a. Nash Kato and King Roeser, releases their first studio album in a dozen years with today's release of Oui on both CD and digital/streaming.  The Minnesota-born, Northwestern-educated duo have written 11 new tracks and co-produced all 12 on the album, including an Urge-style revival of Wham!'s George Michael-penned "Freedom."  Kato and Roeser haven't lost any of the edge and bite that brought them to the attention of fans like Quentin Tarantino; chances are you, too, will want to say Oui! to this most welcome return.
