Melanie, Ace o' Diamonds: The Lost Broadway Musical (Cleopatra) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
In the early 1980s, singer-songwriter Melanie lent her talents to the score of a new musical intended for Broadway. Ace o' Diamonds, with a book by Ed Kelleher and Seymour Vall, revolved around the relationship between Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok. It was workshopped in New York City in the early 1980s; a showcase was held at the Master Theatre in November 1981 with a cast including Annie Golden (Hair, The Full Monty). Though the show never proceeded to a full production (in part due to the death of the attached producer), Cleopatra is issuing Melanie's complete score for the first time. She accompanies herself on acoustic guitar and Paul Harris plays piano on this 2CD collection featuring the complete show (including dialogue) and a further 13 bonus tracks; these have been derived from the live showcase, concert performances, and studio sessions.
Rick Springfield, Big Hits: Rick Springfield's Greatest Hits Vol. 2 (Sing) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
