Mike Duquette (Founder) was fascinated with catalog music ever since he was a teenager. A 2009 graduate of Seton Hall University with a B.A. in journalism, Mike paired his profession with his passion through The Second Disc, one of the first sites to focus on all reissue labels great and small. His passion for reissues turned into a career, having written at and worked for all three major catalogue music labels and contributing to Allmusic, Billboard, Discogs, City Pages and Ultimate Classic Rock. He's penned liner notes for Verve, Chess, Mondo and Soul Music Records.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Mike lives in Astoria, Queens with his wife, a cat named Ravioli, twin daughters and a large yet tasteful collection of music.

I should be receiving the Elvis Stax box any day now. The sessions here among the most hotly debated in all of Elvis-dom. Some love them, some absolutely loathe them. I have all of the other Legacy editions–which are universally stellar, IMO–so for the reasonable price I paid, I figured the 3-CD edition was worth a chance. I’ll report back once I get a listen.

  I had been buying the Legacy Editions, then spent too much on other stuff and have missed the last few. This new release has me in the mood to catch up on what I’ve missed. What are the titles currently available?

Looking at your list, I just realized I’m missing the “Elvis/Elvis Presley” Legacy edition! Man, I’m not sure how THAT one slipped under my radar. Geez. Gotta snag that one pronto. Thanks for posting your list. If not for that, I’m not sure when (of even IF) I would’ve realized I was missing one of the most important titles in the whole series! 🙂
