Another massive box set coming toward collectors from the U.K.: a set compiling all of Frank Sinatra's albums for his own Reprise Records label.
Half a century after Sinatra founded it himself, The Reprise Years collates mini-paper sleeve replicas of all of Sinatra's standard albums from 1961's Ring-a-Ding Ding! to 1984's L.A. is My Lady and adds a deluxe booklet and DVD of Sinatra's A Man and His Music television specials from 1965 to 1967.
Most of this material has been released before; longtime collectors no doubt remember the "suitcase," 1995's The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings, and we've also seen reissues from Concord and Shout! Factory covering some of this material. But for those who can't miss the Chairman of the Board, this is a set to get.
Details on this set, due November 22, are still partial - Amazon's page doesn't have a track list as of yet (this thread at the Sinatra Family Forum is the best resource I've seen keeping up so far) - but here's a track list of all those original albums after the jump. If anything changes, we'll of course let you know.

RoyalScam says
The "suitcase" has EVERYTHING...unreleased tracks, singles, Disco Sinatra!
Who needs this if you have that?
Another case of a subpar box replacing an awesome one.
Joe Marchese says
Agreed, RS. But that said...
Many Sinatra fans griped about the "suitcase" beacause it presented the masters in recording order, not album order. If this package had reformatted the tracks into album order with accompanying jackets, and still retained the suitcase's unreleased tracks (not to mention adding the odds and ends left off the suitcase -- some have been released since, others not at all), I have no doubt Universal/FSE would have seen more sales of this box.
As it exists, this box is basically an excuse for Universal U.K. to repackage the albums to which they now hold the rights, most of which have already seen release abroad in editions cloned from the old Reprise discs, with no sonic improvements or liner notes. (The recent expanded remasters are also being released in the U.K. by Universal, and over here by Concord.)
While the box itself appears to be a nice, classy package (and well worth buying for those collectors who DON'T own the suitcase), it's indeed a disappointment, because it could have been an "improvement" on the suitcase for those bothered by that distinguished set's track order. The enticement of extra material (not just a DVD) would have convinced many hardcore Sinatra fans to shell out money a second time, too, myself most likely included.
This set, alas, appears to be a missed opportunity.
