Rod McKuen - Charlie Brown

Rod McKuen, A Boy Named Charlie Brown (Varese Vintage) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K.)

Poet/singer/songwriter/renaissance man Rod McKuen may have passed away earlier this year, but his incredible and varied body of work lives on.  Varese has the first-ever CD reissue of McKuen's album of selections from his song score to 1969's A Boy Named Charlie Brown. The album also contains performances of other McKuen classics from The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Me, Natalie (co-written with Henry Mancini) and Joanna.

Carl Hall - You Don't Know Nothing

Carl Hall, You Don't Know Nothing About Love: The Loma/Atlantic Recordings 1967-1972 (Omnivore) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K.)

Actor, singer and all-around soul man Carl Hall released just six scorching single sides produced by the great Jerry Ragovoy for the Loma and Atlantic labels which have become cult favorites of many an R&B collector. Omnivore has brought those sides together on a new anthology that premieres 13 previously unissued tracks from the same period!

Royal Jester - English Oldies

The Royal Jesters, English Oldies (Numero Group) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K.)

Numero Group has rescued a whopping 28 tracks from The Royal Jesters, teen kings of the San Antonio music scene throughout the 1960s.  Doo-wop, R&B, rock and soul - they're all here on this Tex-Mex time capsule packaged with Numero's typical attention to detail.  Watch for our feature on this release very soon!

Jerry Garcia Band - On Broadway

The Jerry Garcia Band, On Broadway: Act One - October 28, 1987 (Round) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K.)

Here's the very first installment in a new archival series celebrating Jerry Garcia's 13-night run on Broadway! On Broadway: Act One presents three complete, previously unreleased sets from the October 28, 1987 performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, today home to the musical Finding Neverland: the early and late Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band sets and the Jerry Garcia Band's electric evening set.

Two's Company OBC

Original Broadway Cast Recording, Two's Company (RCA/Masterworks Broadway) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. TBD)

After a period of exclusivity to Masterworks Broadway's own website and Arkiv Music, Amazon now has available the CD-R of Two's Company, starring Bette Davis with a score by Vernon Duke, Sammy Cahn and Ogden Nash!  This marks the first CD-era release from the original master tapes of this one-of-a-kind cast album.  You'll find more details here about this release!

Rickie Lee Jones - Other Side of Desire

Two-time Grammy winner Rickie Lee Jones' The Other Side of Desire was written and recorded in New Orleans, where Jones lives today. Produced by John Porter (of Roxy Music) and Mark Howard, this is the first new music the great singer-songwriter has written in over a decade.
