After a fourteen-year separation, California's legendary Eagles put their rivalries on hold for a miraculous 1994 reunion. The resulting album, Hell Freezes Over, collected eleven songs that were recorded for MTV in April of that year, plus four studio tracks. The album went 9x Platinum and boasted two Top 40 hits: the Don Henley/Glenn Frey-penned "Get Over It" and "Love Will Keep Us Alive," written by Jim Capaldi, Paul Carrack, and Paul Vale.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Geffen Records will issue a standalone Bob Ludwig remaster of the album on CD and 180-gram double vinyl. (Ludwig's remaster premiered on CD as part of Eagles' 2018 career-encompassing box set from Rhino, Legacy.) Both editions are due out on March 8. Nothing new. Product.
As Don would say, no thank you.
Dave Horn says
Yes, yet another "anniversary" rip-off. I suppose we're lucky, as fans, that they haven't padded it out with a few extras and the surround-sound mix and charged a fortune for it. Talking of the surround mix, I only bought the DVD back in the day as I prefer surround mixes. So where's a DVD reissue and BD/4K issue?
William Davis says
Would prefer to see the Version of Hotel California, as played in Phoenix, AZ...with Trumpet lead in.
Fletch says
25 years? That long ago?
E says
Any 4K with hi res audio release soon?
