Since its release over 20 years ago on February 26, 2002, Norah Jones' Come Away with Me has become one of the biggest-selling albums of all time.  With its fusion of jazz, folk, traditional pop, and blues, Come Away with Me crossed over to multiple audiences.  The Blue Note album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and received eight Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, as well as Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (all for the Jesse Harris-written "Don't Know Why"), and Best New Artist for Jones.  The Diamond-certified album has sold nearly 30 million copies and launched Jones into a career that's encompassed eight solo LPs and various side projects to date.  Now, the artist is revisiting Come Away with Me in a variety of anniversary editions.  On April 29, Blue Note will reissue the album on standard CD, standard vinyl, and 3CD and 4LP Super Deluxe Editions plus digitally.

Intimate, romantic, and elegant, Come Away with Me yielded the top 40 Pop/top 5 AC/top 10 Adult Top 40 hit "Don't Know Why" as well as other material penned by Jesse Harris ("Shoot the Moon," "I've Got to See You Again" "One Flight Down"), Jones and Harris ("The Long Day Is Over"), and bassist Lee Alexander ("Seven Years," "Feelin' the Same Way," "Lonestar," and "Painter Song," the latter co-written with J.C. Hopkins).  Choice covers peppered the album, too, such as Hank Williams' "Cold, Cold Heart," John D. Loudermilk's "Turn Me On," and Hoagy Carmichael and Ned Washington's "The Nearness of You."  An iTunes deluxe version added bonus tracks including Jones' interpretation of Bob Dylan's "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight;" those bonuses are reprised on this edition.

While the standard CD and LP versions will feature the remastered original album only, the 3CD and 4LP iterations will add 30 bonus tracks (22 of which are previously unreleased) to chronicle the development of Jones' massively successful debut.  The bonus programs consist of Demos, First Sessions Outtakes, and The First Sessions EP (17 tracks total), and the 13-track The Allaire Sessions, named for the studio in Shokan, New York where early recording sessions took place.  (The First Sessions EP was a limited pressing sold at Jones' shows and on her website in 2001.)

The demo recordings featured on the box set are the tracks that nabbed Jones a contract with Blue Note.  Among them are covers of such jazz vocal standards as "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most," "Walkin' My Baby Back Home," "When Sunny Gets Blue," and "Hallelujah, I Love Him So."  The Allaire Sessions represent an early version of the album recorded by Jones at the studio with producer Craig Street.  (Street ultimately shared production credit on Come Away with Me with Jones, Jay Newland, and Atlantic Records legend Arif Mardin.)  Those tracks have been remixed, or "rebalanced," by Tony Maserati at Craig Street's suggestion to emphasize Jones' youthful yet assured vocals.  The Allaire Studios version of the Jones-penned title track "Come Away with Me" has been released as the first single off the box set and is available now for streaming and download.

Eli Wolf has produced the 20th anniversary reissue, and Norah Jones has penned new liner notes.  Rare photos are also included in the packages.  All formats of Come Away with Me are due from Blue Note/UMe on April 29.  You'll find pre-order links and the full track listings for each version below.
