Edsel is looking back on Marc Bolan and T. Rex's prolific 1972 with a new box set available in 5 CD, 6 LP, and 2 LP formats. The all-encompassing 1972 includes The Slider album, Live at Wembley: The Matinee Show (plus two previously unreleased 1972 mixes from The Evening Show), an expanded Born to Boogie: The Soundtrack Album (featuring Elton John and Ringo Starr), Bolan's U.S. Radio Sessions, T. Rex's 1972 BBC sessions (boasting a previously unreleased version of "Telegram Sam" from the Christmas Top of the Pops), non-LP B-sides, and the T. Rex Fan Club 1972 Christmas flexidisc. All tracks are present on both the CD box and the 180-gram colored vinyl set. The 2LP highlights edition, pressed on 140-gram white vinyl, features highlights from the Wembley show, U.S. and U.K. radio sessions, and bonus extras including highlights from the Born to Boogie soundtrack.
