Jack Haskell and Louise O'Brien

Stage Door Records has unearthed the RCA Camden 1959 "Living Stereo" studio cast recording of Harold Rome's western-themed musical Destry Rides Again for its CD premiere.  The album features Jack Haskell and Louise O'Brien as well as the orchestra of Norman Leyden surveying the score introduced on Broadway by a cast including Andy Griffith and Dolores Gray.  Stage Door's presentation has been expanded with 14 bonus period cover versions performed by artists as disparate as Sammy Davis Jr., The Four Aces, and Sylvia Syms.  The release comes with an eight-page booklet boasting detailed liner notes by George Dankser about the musical's history.
