The Who's Next/Life House box set, by the numbers, offers 155 tracks - 89 of which are previously unissued in any version and 57 of which are brand-new remixes. This set finally offers a comprehensive look at Pete Townshend's ambitious, conceptual Life House (later known as Lifehouse) project, tracing it from its roots as a follow-up to 1969's Tommy to its evolution into Who's Next. The biggest iteration of the new Who's Next / Life House set is a 10CD/1Blu-ray release. The audio has been newly remastered by longtime Who engineer Jon Astley, with the Blu-ray Audio disc offering new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround remixes of the original Who's Next and 14 bonus tracks by Steven Wilson. The CDs offer the remastered Who's Next album, a selection of Townshend's 1970-1971 Life House demos, London and New York session takes, released singles, and four discs with two concerts. If the 10CD/1BD box is too expansive for your taste, 180-gram 4LP and 3LP sets are also being released.
