In September, The Second Disc did a Reissue Theory commemorating the early music of the Super Mario Bros. series for the video game franchise's 25th anniversary. In the post, we mentioned a new compilation of Mario music that was, at the time, exclusive only to Nintendo's native Japan. Now, we can report, that compilation is coming to America in time for Christmas.
It's not just a soundtrack, of course. Nintendo is releasing a special deluxe game package for the Nintendo Wii. It will include a game disc featuring Super Mario All-Stars, the 1993 Super Nintendo game featuring 16-bit updates of Super Mario Bros. (1985), Super Mario Bros. 2 (1988), Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990) and the Japanese-only Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (released in that country as SMB 2 in 1986). It will also feature a special Super Mario history booklet featuring rare artwork and images and interviews with Mario developers, and a bonus CD of music from various Mario games from 1985 to the present.
The set is due out on December 12 and will retail for about $29.99. Thanks to this fun little interview with three Mario composers on Nintendo's Web site, we can also provide the track list. Read it after the jump (bad Mario pun, I know).

Gary Dunaier says
I'm interested in the CD, but I don't have a Wii (I'm a DS guy), so if I bought this it would be just for the CD - and I don't know if it's worth $30 to me.
