Happy Thanksgiving from The Second Disc!

A quick note on behalf of myself and Joe wishing you, the treasured reader, a happy Thanksgiving. We may fuss and gripe about reissues and box sets, mastering errors and badly packaged discs – but we are continually thankful for your patronage. We thank all who have read our work, told their friends, linked to us from other sites – cumulative hit counts are somewhere above 230,000 since starting in January, which is tremendous and exciting.

We will be back tomorrow to provide you a reprieve from shopping on Black Friday; don’t forget that La La Land Records announces its final batch of titles between 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time – and we will be breathlessly reporting that, along with the first of what will likely be a lot of holiday music-themed features between now and Christmas. The remainder of the year shall also bring a few nice special surprises for you, as well, so please keep us in your bookmarks and RSS feeds.

Thanks again and enjoy this time with your families!

Mike Duquette (Founder) was fascinated with catalog music ever since he was a teenager. A 2009 graduate of Seton Hall University with a B.A. in journalism, Mike paired his profession with his passion through The Second Disc, one of the first sites to focus on all reissue labels great and small. His passion for reissues turned into a career, having written at and worked for all three major catalogue music labels and contributing to Allmusic, Billboard, Discogs, City Pages and Ultimate Classic Rock. He's penned liner notes for Verve, Chess, Mondo and Soul Music Records.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Mike lives in Astoria, Queens with his wife, a cat named Ravioli, twin daughters and a large yet tasteful collection of music.
