The Brian Wilson isn't really 'exclusive' - those 'bonus songs' are standard on most Import versions. Only thing better might be the price. I can wait.
Joe Marchese says
Um, the two bonus tracks ARE U.S. Target exclusives (at a reasonable $15.99 for 18 tracks) and also included on the U.K. edition as indicated above. Time and interest don't pemit a rundown of every import edition. For those who prefer the shorter versions, or to get an import edition from Japan or elsewhere, that's swell, too!
Jason Michael says
The Canadian Deluxe version includes all 18 tracks and I picked it up for $12. The versions of “Love and Mercy” and “In the Back of My Mind” sound to me as though they are demos, not new recordings. “Love and Mercy” sounds quite nice in a stripped down arrangement, much less produced than the one on Wilson's first solo album, but “In the Back of My Mind” is actually embarrassing. His vocal is wildly off, and I am surprised he would want anyone to hear it. The album is quite enjoyable other than that.
Bill says
I personally love Brian's "rough around the edges" solo recording of "In the Back of My Mind." For me, it's akin to listening to Burt Bacharach singing "Alfie" (which I recognize would be deemed a negative by a lot of folks). Nevertheless, it's the artists' humanity and their deep relationship with the respective songs that, IMO, really shine through on said recordings.
