The stand-alone 27-track audio CD is also being made available with the new stereo mixes. The video disc in the standard Beatles 1 editions will also be released separately. A 2-LP, 180-gram vinyl package will follow.
The brand new, delixe Beatles 1+ releases celebrate the Fabs' career in over 200 minutes through 50 promotional films and videos. This includes the 27 No.1s, with the restored videos, along with a second disc of 23 videos, including alternate versions, as well as rarely-seen and newly-restored films and videos.
Many of the films and videos included on Beatles 1+ have never previously been commercially available. Beatles 1 and Beatles 1+ offer the restored films, sourced from 35mm negatives scanned in 4K and digitally restored with new stereo and 5.1 surround audio remixes, produced from the original analogue tapes by the Grammy-winning team of Giles Martin with Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios. For four of the videos, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have provided exclusive audio commentary and filmed introductions, respectively. The 1+ Deluxe Editions are housed in an expanded 124-page illustrated hardcover book featuring notes by journalist and author Mark Ellen and extensive, detailed track/video annotations by Richard Havers.
All configurations are due on November 6. You can review the track listings as well as the notes on each track provided by Apple, and can also pre-order these titles at the links above!

Jeremy Shatan says
The Brian Epstein/EMI theory of Christmas product still holds apparently! But these visuals sound mighty enticing.
Patrick says
Wow!
All those videos will certainly entice me to get this again. Finally someone provides additional material that I consider worth my while and money.
Ricardo Amaral says
What a messy thing... I don't even understand the logic in all this... Well, at least blu-ray videos...
Steve Bruun says
This is amazing, fantastic news. Years ago, asked why no DVD accompanied the "1" album in 2000, Neil Aspinall replied that it was "a bit obvious." I'm glad they waited, because this new release takes advantage of technology that didn't exist 15 years ago. There will always be room for complaints - why no 10K IMAX video release? How come they're not issuing the album on 8-track cartridges and hand-cranked wax cylinders? - but this sounds like it will be an excellent presentation of the Beatles' promo films. The optional bonus disc is a great way to incorporate historically significant videos that don't fit within the "1" concept, and to placate the fans who want multiple versions where they exist. (Finally, the "fish and chips" version of "I Feel Fine"!). Some people are speculating that the remixed CD is a trial balloon for a full-catalog remix; time will tell.
As for my own totally uninformed speculation: In describing the album as remixed, Apple didn't say "...except for 'Love Me Do' and 'She Loves You,'" tracks that exist only in mono. Does this mean that they've upmixed those tracks to stereo, at a level of quality worthy of a major release? Again, time will tell.
Zubb says
the price is sure reasonable.
Bill Janowski says
$60 for this thing?!? I'd rather win it. I got the original CD of '1' dirt cheap a while back, so this upgrade would be fine with me, but not at that price, but it should come down on or before the street date.
Zubb says
with all the Blu Ray extras? I think the $60 list is reasonable. On sale it will probably be around $40. I will be picking it up.
Bill Janowski says
Now's your chance - Just checked Amazon again, and 1 third party seller is offering it as a pre-order for $37 before shipping. Didn't see a link for the DVD version yet, which is what I'd be interested in. I'm guessing both versions have exactly the same content. I can wait until street date for this.
Joe says
I never bought the 1 CD since I already had all the songs on all of the Beatles albums. But now having the videos AND a new stereo mix will for sure, have me buying this when it comes out in November.
Christophe says
That's exactly my position!
Sean Anglum says
Yet another HAPPY BEATLES' CHRISTMAS! I'm ecstatic. ""At the end of every year!" Thanks, Apple. Thanks, Mates!
Mark B. Hanson says
Hope the remixes are as good as the Yellow Submarine Songtrack and the 5.1 mix from that DVD.
Hermes says
"Two Of Us" (2003, Let It Be... Naked Version)?
http://www.bilibili.com/video/av1963977/
Steve Bruun says
That is a curious omission. Some are speculating that it will wind up on the "Let It Be" release, but it's just speculation. Less significant is the omission of a flash video of "I Feel Fine" used on the band's website.
Phil Cohen says
This was one of the few remaining Beatles projects that Yoko,Paul, Olivia & Ringo could agree on. Don't get me wrong: I'm thrilled by this product, and I've already ordered the CD + book + 2-Bluray edition!
Russ naughton says
As appropriate are any of the older tracks in mono as with the mono box of last year?
Wonderful product for a fan since 62
Lawrence Schulman says
This is all great news. But, what I am interested in is the 5.1 mixes in hi-res audio. Pardon my simplicity, but if this is my interest, and not so much the videos, is the CD/2 Blu-ray Audio][Limited Edition] at $60 the one I should get. I am somewhat confused by all the formats they are releasing this in. Thanks for anyone's help.
Russell Naughton says
I have since found out that six of the tracks on the cd will be as they should be in mono as were on the mono set from last year. As to what to get out of all the options available - well the cd is common and it really comes down to the videos on bluray or dvd
For me the choice was easy get the best. They won't be touched again for years. On the audio side the very best is still with mint copies of the vinyl from 50 years ago. The mono pepper from then is arguably the disc of the century. All great fun and glad I lived long enough to see it. PS new Macca "tug of war" now that is a great disc.
Russ Naughton fan since seeing them live from the front row in 63 was it or 64 - ah the years are getting to me
Joe Marchese says
I've long been hoping for a release of the original studio tracks mixed into 5.1 surround. As I understand it, the videos included on these releases (27 videos on "Beatles 1" and 50 videos on "Beatles 1+") have been newly mixed in stereo and 5. 1 surround. The original studio recordings will be presented on the CD component of both packages in new stereo mixes. We're still awaiting a (long-rumored) release of the studio recordings in surround. Hope this helps!
Lawrence Schulman says
I am still confused, I am sorry to say. Isn't it audio they are putting on the Blu-ray audio discs, and not video?
Joe Marchese says
To my knowledge, the Blu-rays and DVDs aren't audio discs, but video discs; each of the videos (27 on Beatles 1 and 50 on Beatles 1+) has been newly mixed into stereo and surround. The CDs have new stereo mixes of the original 27 tracks on Beatles 1. Confusing, I know...!
Lawrence Schulman says
Then why at Amazon is the $60 package listed as CD/2 DVD Audio. A DVD Audio is not video.
Joe Marchese says
Thanks...That might account for the rampant confusion about this set; my instinct is that Amazon has the listing wrong, as so frequently happens. But here is the original press release:
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/the-beatles-videos-and-top-hits-come-together-for-the-first-time-300142971.html
Russell Naughton says
Ok - there is one standard cd which carries a remixed version of the original
"1" cd including 5 or 6 of the earliest songs now in mono as they would have been published back in 1962/3. Their songs were recorded for mono up until abbey road.
The beatles preferred mono mixes right through their career and did not even attend the stereo mixes leaving this to the engineers. There is much info on the whole mono stereo matter on the web
Then there are two discs of videos with 5.1 audio
They both carry the same material but the bluray has the higher quality picture
The 5.1 audio is unaffected by the video format
For the best of both worlds get the cd and 2 blurays
Now 5:44 Wednesday morning in Australia and I must get more sleep
My soon 70 year old body needs it to keep its good looks ;-))
Regards Russ Naughton
Lawrence Schulman says
Thanks, Russ. Sleep tight.
Lawrence Schulman says
I would add that one can also order a CD/2 Blu-ray Audio at $60. Again, Blu-ray Audio is not video.
