The late jazz vocalist Shirley Horn is celebrated on this new release - the first set of previously unreleased material from the singer in almost ten years. Live at the 4 Queens features twelve tracks recorded at the Las Vegas nightspot on May 2, 1988 including such standards as "Isn't It Romantic," "The Boy from Ipanema," "Lover Man" and "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To." Horn was joined by Charles Ables on bass and Steve Williams on drums for this intimate performance now seeing its first release. Per usual, Resonance has packaged the set lavishly; a 56-page booklet boasts new essays by producer Zev Feldman, Brian Sanders, James Gavin, and more; interviews with Richard Seidel, Sheila Jordan and others; and rare photos.
