Pure Hysteria: Def Leppard Allow Download, Streaming of Classic Catalogue for the First Time

Step inside, walk this way: British rockers Def Leppard have finally allowed their most popular albums to stream or download for the first time.

Ahead of a major co-headlining tour with Journey, fans old and new can finally take the hits of Def Leppard along with them wherever digital music is found, thanks to the band’s label, Bludgeon Riffola, and Universal Music Enterprises, who distributes much of the group’s catalogue. “Given a bit of time to sit down and think about it and read and do the research and listen to the right people, things just fell into place,” lead singer Joe Elliott told USA Today of the decision, made shortly after the band’s 2017 touring.

For fans of Def Leppard’s sterling pop-rock, including U.S. chart hits like “Photograph,” “Rock of Ages,” “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Love Bites,” “Armageddon It,” “Let’s Get Rocked” and “Two Steps Behind,” this marks a major shift. The band had previously put the deluxe edition of their alt-rock-leaning Slang (1996) on Spotify, as well as the 2013 live set Viva! Hysteria. But now the group’s full discography, stretching to recent Record Store Day release The Def Leppard E.P. (1979) all the way to the group’s self-titled 2015 album – and including the recent all-out deluxe edition of their landmark Hysteria (1987) – is available. (This even makes a full listen of 1993’s Last Action Hero soundtrack possible!)

Head to iTunes, Amazon and Spotify to have a listen, and share your favorites with us!
