More Ch-Ch-Changes: Parlophone Reissues David Bowie's "Changestwobowie," "Aladdin Sane"

BUY NOW FROM AMAZON.COM

Following the 40th anniversary reissue of David Bowie's Changesonebowie in 2016, Parlophone is readying a CD, LP and DD edition of its 1981 followup: Changestwobowie.  This will arrive on April 13, to be followed a week later by a special 45th anniversary vinyl edition of the artist's seminal Aladdin Sane.

Changestwobowie returns to CD after a three-decade absence.  Originally released on LP in 1981 and on CD in 1985 by RCA, it features 10 songs spanning the period between Hunky Dory (1971) and Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) (1980), including single versions of "Ashes to Ashes," "Fashion," and "DJ."  Boasting a now-famous cover shot by Greg Gorman, the compilation achieved gold status in the United Kingdom in 1982.

Parlophone's reissue utilizes all remastered tracks.  The CD will be housed in a digipak sleeve.  A  180-gram vinyl edition will be available initially pressed in black and blue vinyl (packaged randomly) before reverting solely to black vinyl.  Digitally, it will be available in high-resolution 192/24 and 96/24, as well as standard digital for streaming and download.   The same day, Changesonebowie will arrive on high-resolution digital platforms, too.

AVAILABLE AT BRICK-AND-MORTAR RECORD STORES APRIL 20

One week later, a special limited edition silver vinyl edition of 1973's Aladdin Sane will arrive as an exclusive to brick-and-mortar record stores.  It follows 2017's gold vinyl versions of Hunky Dory and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, which were released 45 years to the day of the first issue of Ziggy.

Limited to one run only, this edition of Aladdin Sane will contain Ken Scott's approved 2013 remaster and will be released on April 20, 45 years to the day since the original release date for the album. The label indicates that while the album was previously thought to have been issued on April 13, 1973, "new evidence has come to light that proves the release date was officially April 20, but being Good Friday in the U.K., the album was 'made available' on April 19."  This release will not be available online, but rather, only at physical stores.

Changestwobowie arrives on April 13, and can be pre-ordered below!  Look for the 45th anniversary edition of Aladdin Sane at your favorite local record store on April 20!
