Marianne Faithfull, Rich Kid Blues (Edsel) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)

In 1971, Marianne Faithfull entered the studio with producer-arranger Mike Leander and recorded an album of 12 favorite songs penned by such eternal troubadours as Bob Dylan, James Taylor, George Harrison, Phil Ochs, Cat Stevens, and Tim Hardin.  Yet the completed album, provisionally entitled Masques, remained on the shelf until 1985, when it was revived as Rich Kid Blues.  Now, that album – spare, acoustic, and frequently haunting – is returning to CD and vinyl from Edsel.  Alan Robinson has provided new liner notes.  Available next week outside of the U.K.!
