Nice An’ Easy: Whitesnake Reissue ‘Slide It In’ With Three Mixes and More

PRE-ORDER THE BOX SET FROM AMAZON.COM

Whitesnake’s 1984 album Slide It In celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.  The album was the last to feature Jon Lord on keyboards and boasted such hits as “Slow an’ Easy” and “Love Ain’t No Stranger,” both of which cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard charts.  On March 8, the album will be celebrated in a variety of configurations from Parlophone/Rhino.

The star of the campaign is a 6-CD/1-DVD “Ultimate Special Edition,” which features remastered editions of both the U.S. and U.K. mixes of the album, a new 2019 remix, a wealth of live material (including Jon Lord’s final concert with the band), a disc of rough mixes and demos, and a DVD with a new interview with David Coverdale, music videos, and concert footage.  A slimmed-down 2-CD deluxe edition boasts the U.S. and U.K. mix, plus the bonus tracks from the second disc of the Ultimate Special Edition.  A 1-CD version will feature the new 2019 remix, while a 2-LP configuration (arriving on March 22) brings together the U.K. and U.S. mixes, each on one slab of vinyl.

All the CD configurations of Slide It In are due out on March 8, with the vinyl edition to follow on March 22.  Check out the full track listing and pre-order from the links below!

Sam Stone

Sam Stone has been obsessed with catalog music ever since his folks gave him a Contours best-of collection for his fourth birthday. He quickly began to learn all he could about rock and roll history and beyond, a passion that continues to this day.

Sam followed his love for music to the classroom, earning a B.A. from Towson University in Electronic Media and Film, concentrating on radio and audio production, as well as an M.A. in Audio Arts from Syracuse University. He has put his knowledge and skills to work at prominent reissue labels and is excited to bring his perspectives on catalog music to a broader audience. When he’s not writing for The Second Disc, Sam can be found researching about music, talking about Joni Mitchell’s career, and adding another box set to his Amazon wish list.
