Take No Prisoners: Megadeth Celebrates 35 Years With “Warheads On Foreheads”

March 21, 2019 By Sam Stone 2 Comments

PRE-ORDER NOW FROM AMAZON.COM

Metal titans Megadeth will ring in their 35th anniversary this year, and they’re letting fans in on the celebration with a new, 35-song career retrospective called Warheads On Foreheads.  Due on March 22 from Capitol/UMe, the anthology includes tracks from their entire studio career, from their debut, Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good, to their 2017 Grammy winner, Dystopia.  It will be availble in a 3-CD configuration; digital download and streaming; a standard, black vinyl 4-LP version; and a limited-edition 4-LP “metallic silver” color vinyl set that is available only from Megadeth’s online store, as are a number of deluxe merchandise bundles.

“Thirty five years ago, I chose the name Megadeth for my band and I see these songs as the most efficient weapons in the bands arsenal,” says founding member Dave Mustaine. “‘Warheads on Foreheads’ is a U.S. military term for targeting efficiency. It’s all about using the right tool for the job and these tracks were created for maximum destruction (or stopping power, or something else!).”

Check out the full track listing and pre-order links for the CD set and vinyl version below!

Sam Stone

Sam Stone has been obsessed with catalog music ever since his folks gave him a Contours best-of collection for his fourth birthday. He quickly began to learn all he could about rock and roll history and beyond, a passion that continues to this day. Sam followed his love for music to the classroom, earning a B.A. from Towson University in Electronic Media and Film, concentrating on radio and audio production, as well as an M.A. in Audio Arts from Syracuse University. He has put his knowledge and skills to work at prominent reissue labels and is excited to bring his perspectives on catalog music to a broader audience. When he’s not writing for The Second Disc, Sam can be found researching about music, talking about Joni Mitchell’s career, and adding another box set to his Amazon wish list.

This is missing several key tracks. That is why artists shouldn’t do their own compiling!
