Avengers Assemble: Mondo To Release Limited-Edition Vinyl LPs of All 22 Marvel Cinematic Universe Scores Starting with “Ant-Man and The Wasp”

BUY NOW FROM MONDO

This past weekend, Avengers: Endgame broke numerous box office records by taking in $1.2 billion at the global box office.  The release became an event as millions of people flocked to movie theaters to see the culmination of the previous 21 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  As with any film release this large, there are numerous product tie-ins.  Last week, Mondo announced that they were teaming with Marvel Studios, Disney, and Hollywood Records to reissue all 22 of the MCU soundtracks on limited-edition vinyl.  The first, available now for pre-order with a May release date, is 2018’s Ant-Man and The Wasp.

The film, starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Laurence Fishburne was a sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man.  Most of the creative team returned for the follow-up, including director Peyton Reed and composer Christophe Beck.  Beck has been prolific as a film/television composer, winning an Emmy for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  He has also worked on other projects for Disney including 2014’s Muppets Most Wanted and the Frozen franchise.

Released last July, Beck’s score to Ant-Man and The Wasp has been available only as a digital download.  Mondo’s release will be the first time it is available on a physical format.  Fourteen bonus tracks have been added, including four demos.  The 2-LP package features original artwork by Phantom City Creative.  It is available three ways: 180-gram Split Colored vinyl (Limited to 1,000 copies), 180-gram Solid Colored Vinyl (Disc 1 Red, Disc 2 Yellow) and 180-gram Black Vinyl.

Next up in Mondo’s series is Ludwig Goransson’s Oscar-winning score from Black Panther, followed by Mark Mothersbaugh’s score to Thor: Ragnarok.  No schedule has been announced yet for the upcoming releases, however.

If you would like to kick off your collection of vinyl MCU soundtracks, we’ve got the full tracklisting below together with the links to purchase the Ant-Man and The Wasp soundtrack from Mondo’s website.
