Come On Up: Bruce Springsteen Announces LP Reissues of Five ’90s and ’00s Titles

Bruce Springsteen and Legacy Recordings have announced a new batch of vinyl reissues, this time stretching into the ’00s, a decade that saw him release live material with a newly reunited E Street Band (Live in New York City, 2001), onstage forays into the folk songbook (Live in Dublin, 2007), a stark solo acoustic venture (Devils & Dust, 2005), and the critically acclaimed return of The E Street Band in the studio (The Rising, 2002).  All these albums and the 1999 rarities compilation 18 Tracks will be reissued on vinyl on February 21.

Live In Dublin, featuring Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions Band, will make its vinyl debut with this issue.  As for the other titles, they’re long out-of-print on wax, and original pressings command top dollar on the secondary market.  Thankfully, fans who may have missed out on those first issues or have recently gotten back into vinyl will be able to enjoy some fantastic recordings from The Boss, reinvigorated and as surprising as ever.

The Rising, Devils & Dust, and 18 Tracks will be presented in 2-LP configurations, while Live in New York City and Live in Dublin each fill three LPs.  The titles are promised as “transferred from the original source masters, allowing for the highest quality pressings possible.”  These titles are available to order from the Amazon links below.  Meanwhile, the Bruce Springsteen-loving U.K. shop Badlands is offering an exclusive bundle of all five.  No plans have currently been announced for a box set in the style of The Album Collection Volumes 1 and 2.

Sam Stone

Sam Stone has been obsessed with catalog music ever since his folks gave him a Contours best-of collection for his fourth birthday. He quickly began to learn all he could about rock and roll history and beyond, a passion that continues to this day.

Sam followed his love for music to the classroom, earning a B.A. from Towson University in Electronic Media and Film, concentrating on radio and audio production, as well as an M.A. in Audio Arts from Syracuse University. He has put his knowledge and skills to work at prominent reissue labels and is excited to bring his perspectives on catalog music to a broader audience. When he’s not writing for The Second Disc, Sam can be found researching about music, talking about Joni Mitchell’s career, and adding another box set to his Amazon wish list.

  1. 18 Tracks & The Rising are must have for me. Now let’s hope we get a remix of Magic in the next batch of reissues.

  2. This is great for vinyl fanatics, but we really need to get “Nebraska” and “Born In The USA” deluxe box sets soon. Why is it taking so long for these to come out?
