Britney Spears’ 2000 sophomore album Oops!…I Did It Again celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this month. To mark the occasion, Jive Records and Legacy Recordings have planned three new editions for later this year. A commemorative vinyl picture disc will be available at all retail outlets, while Urban Outfitters will carry two exclusive releases: a limited edition clear vinyl release with purple and gold swirl; and a limited edition cassette with purple shell and gold ink. All three hit stores on August 14.

One month later, the pop star’s Oops!…I Did It Again (Remixes & B-Sides) EP, originally announced for Record Store Day 2020, will be released at all independent retailers supporting RSD on September 26, one of the upcoming RSD Drops scheduled for late summer and fall. This EP features four rare remixes of the hits “Oops!…I Did It Again,” “Lucky,” “Stronger” and “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know,” plus four additional rarities from the album sessions only released outside the U.S., including a cover of Rupert Holmes’ classic ballad “You Got It All,” introduced by The Jets.

Oops!…I Did It Again arrive in stores a year after Spears’ debut album …Baby One More Time. Like that album, Oops! debuted on top of the Billboard 200. With first week sales of over 1.3 million copies, the album set a record for the highest first week of sales by a female artist surpassed only by Adele’s 25 in 2015. By its seventeenth week of release, it had already been certified septuple platinum. It’s since gone onto 10x platinum status. Oops! yielded three era-defining singles including the chart-topping title track, “Lucky,” and “Stronger.” All three singles were co-written and co-produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub; “Lucky” bore an additional writing credit for Alexander Kronlund. The album also featured Diane Warren’s “When Your Eyes Say It,” Shania Twain’s “Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know” (co-written with Mutt Lange and Keith Scott), and a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

Look for Legacy’s vinyl picture disc edition as well as Urban Outfitters-exclusive vinyl and cassette versions on August 14, followed by the Record Store Day-exclusive Remixes & B-Sides EP on September 26 at participating brick-and-mortar retailers.
