Fell Down On My Knees: “Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019” Gets CD, LP, Blu-ray, and DVD Release

October 26, 2020 By Sam Stone 1 Comment

PRE-ORDER 3-CD FROM AMAZON.COM

In 2019, Eric Clapton brought together some of the world’s most astounding guitarists for his fifth Crossroads Guitar Festival.  If you’ve had the pleasure to see the concert festival in 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, or 2019, you know what it’s about: A marathon concert featuring Clapton and friends playing in each other’s sets, with once-in-a lifetime collaborations and plenty of jaw-dropping music – all in service of Clapton’s Crossroads Centre for rehabilitation and recovery.  It’s a ticket you don’t want to miss.

But if you couldn’t make it to the festival in Dallas last year, fear not!  On November 20, Rhino will release Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 across multiple formats.  It features almost four hours of festival highlights with appearances by [deep breath…] Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Randolph, Lianne La Havas, James Bay, Los Lobos, Sheryl Crow, Marcus King Band, Vince Gill, Sonny Landreth, John Mayer, James Burton, Jimmie Vaughan, Keb’ Mo’, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and many more.

Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 will be released as in 3-CD, 6-LP, 2-Blu-ray, and 2-DVD configurations.  The film (likely in edited form) will also be part of PBS-TV programming starting November 28.

To preview the collection, Rhino has released The Marcus King Band’s performance of “Goodbye Carolina.”  You can check out below, along with the full track listings and order links!

Sam Stone

Sam Stone has been obsessed with catalog music ever since his folks gave him a Contours best-of collection for his fourth birthday. He quickly began to learn all he could about rock and roll history and beyond, a passion that continues to this day. Sam followed his love for music to the classroom, earning a B.A. from Towson University in Electronic Media and Film, concentrating on radio and audio production, as well as an M.A. in Audio Arts from Syracuse University. He has put his knowledge and skills to work at prominent reissue labels and is excited to bring his perspectives on catalog music to a broader audience. When he’s not writing for The Second Disc, Sam can be found researching about music, talking about Joni Mitchell’s career, and adding another box set to his Amazon wish list.
