The Allman Brothers Band Recording Company has announced a new addition to its live concert series.  Recorded on September 28, 1971 at the Austin Municipal Auditorium in Austin, TX, Down in Texas '71 is available now for pre-order exclusively through Merch Mountain. Beginning March 26 (the anniversary of the band's formation), it will be available only at Macon, GA's Big House museum gift shop and online store, and as a digital release.

Down in Texas '71 captures the Allman Brothers Band - Duane Allman, Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Berry Oakley, Butch Trucks, and Jaimoe - just one month before Duane's tragic death in October.  They were joined by saxophonist Rudolph "Juicy" Carter on six of the concert's nine songs; Carter had played with Jaimoe in the band of soul great Percy Sledge, and it was Carter who coined "Jaimoe" for the drummer born Johnny Lee Johnson.  The set features such Allman staples as "Statesboro Blues," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," and "Stormy Monday," as well as the jazz-inflected "Hot 'Lanta."  The physical CD only has a bonus interview with Berry and Duane recorded earlier in 1971 for a Houston radio station.  Proceeds from this exclusive release will benefit the Allman Brothers Band Museum, or The Big House.  Once the home where the Allman Brothers Band, friends, and families resided, it's now the location of the world's most extensive collection of band memorabilia.  Down in Texas '71 is available for pre-order now.

New Order has also announced the release of a live show coming on May 7 from Rhino.  Education Entertainment Recreation (Live at Alexandra Palace) documents the band's only U.K. show of 2018.  The November 9 gig was played at London's Alexandra Palace with the current line-up of Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Phil Cunningham, and Tom Chapman.  At 2 hours and 20 minutes in length, the band celebrated its 2015 release Music Complete in addition to revisiting New Order and Joy Division classics.

Education Entertainment Recreation will be available in various formats including 2-CD; 2-CD/1-BD; 3 LPs; and a limited edition box set (exclusive to the band's online store) with all formats plus a book and art prints.  This is the first New Order live Blu-ray release to feature this iteration of the band.  The 21-track performance (plus an introduction) boasts "Regret," "Ultraviolence," "True Faith, "Blue Monday," "Temptation," and many more.
