With nearly one dozen studio albums, three live sets, and numerous EPs, it's surprising that Michael Bublé is now announcing his first physical greatest hits collection. With 75 million records sold and four Billboard No. 1 albums, he's the third best-selling Canadian artist of all time, behind only Celine Dion and Shania Twain. The Best of Bublé arrives tomorrow, September 27, on CD and digital formats from Reprise Records, while 2LP vinyl editions (standard at all stores, clear at his webstore, olive green at Barnes & Noble, and white at Amazon) are due on November 22. The release coincides with the artist joining the coaches' panel on NBC's The Voice alongside Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Gwen Stefani.
The non-chronologically-sequenced compilation's 21 tracks include two previously unreleased tracks from the five-time Grammy Award winner: the bright, uptempo original song "Don't Blame It on Me" and a cover of Cuban composer Osvaldo Farres' oft-recorded 1947 standard "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas" ("Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps"). The new tracks are joined by the singer's chart hits ("Haven't Met You Yet," "Home," "Everything," "It's a Beautiful Day") and the covers of classic standards that put him on the map ("Sway," "L.O.V.E.," "Fever," "Cry Me a River," "Feeling Good") and pop hits ("Save the Last Dance for Me," "Me and Mrs. Jones," "Moondance, "Quando, Quando, Quando") - many of which also made various international charts. All showcase Bublé's strong croon and brash swagger. Of his non-holiday, major label studio albums, only 2016's Nobody But Me and 2018's Love have been overlooked on this set.
With the Christmas season almost upon us, the airwaves will soon be inundated with Bublé's popular renditions of such timeless favorites as "It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas," "All I Want for Christmas Is You," "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" The Best of Bublé offers an opportunity to revisit his non-seasonal repertoire. Look for the CD tomorrow, September 27, and the LP on November 22.
