Yes' fifth album, Close to the Edge, returns as a 5CD/LP/Blu-ray set anchored by new surround (Dolby Atmos and 5.1) and stereo remixes by Steven Wilson. This Super Deluxe box follows in the footsteps of similarly lavish reissues of The Yes Album and Fragile. The original 1972 mix has been remastered by Bernie Grundman on CD 1 while Wilson's remix and bonus instrumentals comprise CD 2. The third disc of rarities contains the single edits of "America," "Total Mass Retain," and "And You and I," as well as various alternative versions and three new Wilson edits. The band's December 16, 1972 concert at London's storied Rainbow Theatre (still standing today and in use as a church) debuts on CDs 4 and 5. The box set is rounded out by a Blu-ray with Wilson's Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround remixes plus high-resolution stereo versions of both the 1972 and 2025 mixes; and a remastered LP of the original mix. Liner notes in the 12-page booklet are provided by Syd Schwartz of the popular Jazz and Coffee blog. Read more here, and watch this space for our full review!

Van Halen, Live in Dallas 1991 (Warner/Rhino)
CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
In summer 2024, Rhino continued a surprising amount of catalogue from the latter portion of Van Halen's celebrated career - the period in the mid '80s and '90s when former Montrose vocalist Sammy Hagar took over for original singer David Lee Roth - with an expansion of the group's 1991 effort For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. The 2CD/2LP/Blu-ray set offered the remastered album with an audiovisual representation of the quartet's 1991 live set at the Westend Market in Dallas, Texas. The show, featuring versions of Unlawful cuts "Poundcake" and "Top of the World" plus previous hits like "Why Can't This Be Love" and even the Roth-era "Panama," fulfilled a promise kept by the group some years earlier, after Hagar cut a local show short in 1988 due to problems with his voice. This resultant show was put on free of charge - and now it's available separate from the box as Live in Dallas 1991 on both CD and LP.
The Move, Message from the Country (Cherry Red/Esoteric) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
Cherry Red's Esoteric arm revisits The Move's fourth and final album, featuring Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood on the precipice of founding Electric Light Orchestra. While all of the bonus material (non-LP singles and alternate versions) on this remastered and expanded Message From the Country premiered on a reissue 20 years ago, this new edition upgrades the sound thanks to the discovery of original master tapes. Neil Young, Oceanside Countryside (Reprise/NYA) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada / Greedy Hand (clear))
Neil Young is unveiling another once-lost album with the release of Oceanside Countryside. The LP was recorded from May to December 1977; the first side comprised solo Young performances, while most of the second featured a full band. It never saw release, though. Instead, Comes a Time hit store shelves in October 1978. Both albums shared the same country-rock DNA as well as three songs ("Goin' Back," "Human Highway," and "Field of Opportunity") and some of the same musicians; Ben Keith (steel guitar), Rufus Thibodeaux (fiddle), Karl T. Himmel (drums), and Wrecking Crew veteran Joe Osborn (bass) are heard on both LPs. In addition, Tim Drummond plays bass and Levon Helm plays drums on O/C's "The Old Homestead." Oceanside Countryside includes some tracks that are on the CD of the same name in Archives Vol. III, but the versions are not always identical and the track list of this edition reflects the originally intended running order. The vinyl LP is out today while the CD hits stores April 25. Read more here.
