Ahead of a prolific year of touring - and in the same year the British rocker turns 80 - a new career-spanning collection from Rod Stewart will be released this summer in multiple formats.
Ultimate Hits, available June 27, offers Rod the Mod's most beloved solo hits from the '70s, '80s and '90s, from "Maggie May" and "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)" to "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Young Turks"; "Forever Young" and "Downtown Train" to "Have I Told You Lately" and "Rhythm of My Heart." The set will be available on four different formats with some distinct variants among them. A survey of 20 singles will be available on CD, double LP and Blu-ray Audio, the latter of which features those songs in hi-res stereo. A 2CD edition adds 10 additional songs, bringing the chronology of the album even further to reflect releases like 2021's The Tears of Hercules and last year's Swing Fever, a covers collection recorded in collaboration with former Squeeze keyboardist turned British TV presenter Jools Holland. Amazon's U.K. website will carry exclusively packaged versions of the 2CD and Blu-ray Audio sets with unique green and white covers, and a limited edition of the 2LP set (which is pressed on green vinyl everywhere) will be available on green and white vinyl in Stewart's official store.
The timing of Ultimate Hits couldn't be better: the unmistakable singer is bringing his catalogue of songs on the road all through the year on the One Last Time tour. He'll play sets in North America, South America and Europe, including residency dates in Las Vegas in the spring and fall and the honored "Sunday legend" slot at this summer's Glastonbury festival in the United Kingdom. Rest assured you'll hear many of the tracks featured on Ultimate Hits if you're going to one of those shows!

Interesting release in some respects, but - Terrible cover art - who called this in? 2000s era Photoshop and clip art.
A blu-ray with high res stereo and no Atmos? In 2025? Seriously? Huge pass.
I will pick up the vinyl, which is a reasonably priced package - even with the bad art.
Atlantic Crossing has arrived in Rhino's Quadio series.
Cover looks like a pizza box
Nothing from "Time" 2013, "Another Country" 2015 or "Blood Red Roses" 2018 ???? All these albums were excellent and at least one track from each album should have been included.
This would have been the perfect moment for Warner to release his 12 inch mixes as well, but alas, again another compilation with album versions.
The fans want his 12 inches from the 70s and 80s finally being transferred from the original mastertapes. We've been waiting for decades now to have them in master quality for the first time.
Anyone at Warner reading this blog?
Mike, are you able to pass the message to the Warner head quarters?
Although I don't necessarily need another Rod comp, I'm happy to get his great version of "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" without having to hold onto the karaoke-ish "Still the Same...Great Rock Classics of Our Time" album.
Thank you very much Tom M just ordered Rod & ZZ
So Rod’s classic song “Every Picture Tells a Story” didn’t make the cut on any format? Nor “Mandolin Wind”? Nor “(I Know) I’m Losing You”? I’ll stop now.
And where's "Tom Trauberts Blues"
Meh! Too many hits that were left off, and for me, I could not care less about the tracks from The Tears Of Hercules or Swing Fever.
This should be 3 discs. At the very least.
I'm not bothered by the artwork. I kinda dig it. But wow, some rather big hits omitted--"Passion", "Tonight I'm Yours", "Infatuation"! I understand that space has to be made for a bit of everything over the length of a career like Rod's, but neglecting bonafide hits in favor of what equate to essentially favorite LP tracks seems like minimizing a lot of people's incentive to grab this. Also, I second the idea of getting Stewart's extendeds & 12ers collected in one place!

I'm so curious about the single CD. The 2CD is a definite for me. But that 1 disc album could be so spectacular if it were those 20 songs from the Blu-ray and vinyl. I love an aggressive 1 disc album. But seems to be a 16 track list showing up for it everywhere with 4 of the major songs missing. I'd have loved both CD versions, but not if the single disc is really that stingy.
I'm a fan of Rod but for a compilation called "Ultimate Hits" there's a lot on here that could have been substituted with actual hits...
