Once Upon a Mattress: Original Broadway Cast Recording (Center Stage/Broadway) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
Sutton Foster and Michael Urie lead the company of Mary Rodgers, Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer's uproarious musical comedy as recently seen on Broadway and in Los Angeles in an adaptation by Amy Sherman-Palladino (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Gilmore Girls). This cast album, out today on CD following its recent digital release, vibrantly captures that production with orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin.
Any reason why Suzanne Vega's new album was not listed here?
Hey Jim, no disrespect to the great Miss Vega! This weekly round-up is a curated rundown of some of our favorites and is by no means complete; we direct our readers to sites such as Pause & Play for a more thorough rundown of the week's releases. To include everything - especially when it comes to new releases - just isn't possible for us at this time, but we hope our readers do like what we select for inclusion here. Thanks for your comment!
